Grants Pass Public Safety

  • Thank You Corporal Todd Moran

Thank you for your quick action on the cardiac arrest call on 1-18-2008 on "H" Street. Here is a "code save" pin for you - this happens RARELY! You made all the difference - we delivered the patient to the ER with a pulse and BP! He went on to RVMC.

  • Thank You Officer Kevin Blaich

Thank you for all that you do to make our neighborhood and Grants Pass a safer place to live. I also want to thank your wife and children for supporting you so that you can protect them and others that you don't even know. Have a Happy 2008 - let God make it great. • Thank You Firefighters

On behalf of the entire membership of the Grants Pass Kiwanis, I'd like to thank you for allowing us to use your location as a toy collection center. The "Toys for Kids" program was once again an extremely successful community event. Thanks to your assistance, hundreds of needy kids and their families were given the opportunity to experience a more joyous holiday.

  • Thank You Officer Scott Williams

I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you. Not only for your help the last few days, but for all you do for this community. You have, what I imagine, is one of the hardest jobs around and you did with a smile and a kind heart. If everyone could approach the ills of the world with these qualities all of our outlooks would be significantly improved. I know that, I for one, feel even safer now that I know you are among those working to protect our fair town.

    - Jen W.

  • Thank You Detective Jim Brissette

Thank you and the Grants Pass Police Department for finding and returning my trailer.

    - Mike G.

  • Thank You Detective Sgt. Jim Hamilton and fellow officers

I would like to thank you and your fellow officers for their increased presence on Friday on Rogue River Hwy between Parkdale and Cloverlawn. Speaking to the construction crews they appreciated your presence and felt it helped to reduce speed through the work zone. So on behalf of Robco, Inc., and the City Engineering Department, I would like to say thanks.

    - Russ B.

  • Thank You Officer Justin Dekruger

I sincerely wanted to thank you for responding to my rental house at ......Not only did you "defuse" a tense situation between landlord and a tenant, you handled the situation with such unbiased professionalism. Because of your fast ability to interpret, defuse, and respond in such a non-judgmental state, we were able to come to a complete compromise without any hostility. I will tell everyone I know how proud and thankful I am to live in the community of Grants Pass, that has such an outstanding department of public safety.

    - Lori D.

  • Thank You Dispatcher Sue Miller

Called Records section to thank the dispatcher for how quickly she sent three officers to check on his wife. He was very thankful to all of them.

Why the Levy is Important

Since the early 1980's, residents of Grants Pass have helped fund Public Safety through temporary renewable levies. The current rate, set in 2009, is $1.79 per $1000 of assessed property value. On June 30, 2014, the rate becomes $0 unless a new levy is approved by the voters on Nov. 5th.

The renewal levy is $1.79 per $1000 of assessed value for a temporary four-year term. Your YES vote means you will pay NO more per $1000 than your current rate.
